Acoustic Horizon, 2021
Kinetic - Interactive Sound Installation
Metal horn, arduino, speaker, solar panel, amplifier
“Acoustic Horizon” is the study of the acoustic relationship of the human and its environment. Using soundscape approach and influenced by humanity’s collective narrative, installation reflects upon historical aspects and present environmental quality of the world, and creates future scenarios by creating analogies among the concepts we see as opposing such as nature / technology, conscious / unconscious, natural / artificial or physical and emotional. It is a performative/interactive installation that consists of horn-shaped sculpture, transistors, solar panels, location sensor (compass) and shakers. It brings distant sounds and lets the audience listen to the sounds of the different geographies. It can be rotated. According to the direction of the horns, it plays soundscapes from different parts of the world. The acoustic horn brings far away sounds together and mixes them in a performative way.
