When the first prototype of ‘Future Visioning’ was installed in the Medienhaus corridors in Summer 2022... I remember a long queue forming, and together with the machine, we read the fortunes of over 100 people that weekend. People could choose between a reading from human or the computer — so in the end, which one do you trust?!

Future Visioning
Turkish coffee, known as “türk kahvesi,” holds significance in Turkish culture, deeply connected with daily life and social connections. “Future Visioning” is an interactive installation that blends traditional Turkish coffee reading with AI algorithm, inviting participants on a journey of imagination and introspection.
At the heart of this installation lies a fusion of a shape recognition algorithm and symbolism, enabling participants to envision new opportunities and possibilities.
By engaging with human-centered imagery and storytelling methodologies, “Future Visioning” encourages personal interaction within a private booth, where participants connect with the underlying code and computer system. The installation honors this tradition by translating it into the digital realm, questioning personal interconnectedness with computers.
